Girls on the Run Delaware Fall 2017 Program Registration

ONLINE REGISTRATION: August  21-30, 2017. Lotteries will be held August 31st.  Any remaining open spaces will be filled on a first come, first serve basis after the lottery.

Online Registration – Girls on the Run Delaware engages in a lottery based online registration system to ensure a fair and equal process for all girls. Parents/Guardians are able to register their girl online any time between August 21-30.  Lotteries will be held August 31st.  Registration will remain open on a first come, first serve basis through the conclusion of the 2nd week of practice.  The season begins the week of September 11th.

To sign up for the lottery online, please have the following information available:

  • Parent/Guardian Contact Information
  • Emergency Contact Information
  • Health Information (Allergies, medications, etc.)
  • Insurance Information (Have insurance card available)
  • Credit/Debit Card

When you register your girl, you will be asked to submit a form of payment and you will be charged at the time of registration.  However, if you are not selected for the lottery, your payment will be refunded within five days. If there are more spaces available on the team than girls registered, everyone will be placed on the team and the remaining spaces will be open for first come, first serve registration.

The Lottery will occur on August 31st, this is when the online system will randomly select girls that signed up for a designated location.

  • If your girl is not randomly selected, you will be notified via email and your credit/debit card will refunded within five days. Girls on the Run Delaware will work with you to try to find an alternate location or establish another team at the site if possible.

Our current program fee is on a sliding scale based on household income. Scholarships are available. Contact our program director for more information.

 Family Income – Fee:
• Greater than $150,000 – $175
• $65,000-$149,999 – $165
• $50,000-$64,999 – $110
• $30,000-$49,999 – $55 
• $19,000-$29,999– $30
• Less than $18,999 – $12

Included in the fee price:
• Twenty 75 minute sessions conducted by certified and background checked GOTR coaches
• Lesson handouts and materials
• GOTR t-shirt
• Water bottle
• End of season certificates
• Entry into season ending 5k
• 5k finishers medal

Note that all Girls All girls are required to have a registered RUNNING BUDDY for our 5K’s.
Running buddies must register separately for the 5K’s. They must be 16 years or older. If they are between 16-18 they must have an adult with them at the event pre and post race.

Refund Policy
All withdrawals must be communicated directly with Girls on the Run Delaware. Any withdrawals within the first two weeks of the season will be refunded with the exception of a $25 administration fee. After the second week, no refunds will be issued, except in cases of medical conditions or injuries, with a doctor's note or documentation. These refunds will be pro-rated based on participation time in the program.

Attendance Policy
Guardians should be informed prior to registration that girls are not allowed to attend only one session a week and should not sign up for the program if there is a known conflict. Due to the importance of group dynamics and the experiential learning process of the Girls on the Run curriculum, girls who are absent for more than four (4) practices during one season are in violation of the Girls on the Run attendance policy.

Behavior Policy
Any child engaged in behavior that threatens the health or welfare of other participants, coaches or other key Girls on the Run volunteers will be released from participating in the program. Threatening behavior may include but is not limited to: physical injury, emotional maltreatment, abuse of prescription or illegal drugs, use of alcohol, carrying firearms or other dangerous items, using any item in a dangerous way, or any other activity determined by a coach or administrator to be threatening to another’s health or well-being. Girls on the Run , their coaches, and key Girls on the Run volunteers reserve the right to remove any child from participation for any reason that does not fit the mission and goals of the organization.

Discrimination Policy
A girl who meets or can meet requirements for being a Girl on the Run shall not be denied acceptance based on race, religion, color, national origin, citizenship, height, weight, or disability.
